Digital Citizenship
Digital citizenship refers to the responsible and respectful use of technology by individuals within our global community. It encompasses a comprehensive understanding and practice of digital literacy, ethics, safety, and well-being, ensuring that all members of the OIS community—students, staff, and parents—navigate digital environments with integrity, respect, and an awareness of their impact on both local and global scales.
To effectively implement this definition of digital citizenship, our school will integrate the above principles into the curriculum, policies, and daily practices. This includes ongoing education for all community members, clear guidelines and expectations for digital conduct, and support systems to address challenges and breaches of digital citizenship. Through this comprehensive approach, we aim to prepare our students not only for the digital challenges of today but also for the evolving digital landscape of the future, ensuring they become responsible, ethical, and empathetic global citizens.
